2025 Blue National Select
Our coaches for the 2025 Blue National Select team are Head Defensive Coach Jake Starnes and Head Offensive Coach Claire Dunlap. This duo complements each other so seamlessly. Their motivation, passion, grit, and proactivity on the field are reflected in the exponential development of their teams during their last two seasons with Palms Lacrosse.

Head Defensive Coach Jake Starnes
Coach Jake played at Reinhardt University as a faceoff specialist. Notably, Jake took his team to the NAIA National Championship and secured a crucial faceoff win. This was reported as, “Jake Starnes, who was selected to the All-Invitational Team for his continued control on faceoffs throughout the event, set the stage for yet another historic memory in men's lacrosse history after winning his ninth of the day and most important faceoff of his life.”
Coach Jake has been the 24/25 Green High School team defensive coach for two seasons now. He assisted in taking the team to their first championship win, alongside his fiance Claire Dunlap (below). Jake also coached the STS U14 team in Spring 2022.
Head Offensive Coach Claire Dunlap
Hi, I am Coach Claire! I am the Offensive coach for the 24/25 Green Select team and I am from Canton, Georgia. I have been playing lacrosse since I was about 10 years old. I went on to play at Reinhardt University on the women’s lacrosse team for 4 years, as a low-attack woman for the Lady Eagles. I coached a few youth program teams and private lessons for middle school girls during my time at RU, but since moving to Florida this summer, I am very excited to be coaching the Palms high school girls. I now currently teach Kindergarten and am so excited to get back into the game with your girls!
