PRESS RELEASE: PALMS LACROSSE BOYS PROGRAM IS ACQUIRED BY FLORIDA LACROSSE CLUB

[Tampa, August, 21st 2023] – The Palms Lacrosse Boys' Program is excited to announce a significant development in its journey towards enhancing lacrosse development in the Tampa Bay Region. After thorough deliberation and meaningful discussions, the Palms Lacrosse Boys' Program has been acquired by the Florida Lacrosse Club (FLC), a move that promises expanded opportunities for regional competition and advancement to state and national levels.

We want to acknowledge and express our gratitude for the unwavering support and commitment of the Palms Lacrosse boys' lacrosse community over the years. This strategic decision aims to propel the Tampa Bay Region's lacrosse development while continuing to nurture the love and passion for the game. Under the umbrella of the FLC, the boys' program will now be integrated into the FLC Regional Teams, offering athletes an enriched pathway to compete at various levels.

The transition will provide players with multiple avenues to compete regionally, and foster opportunities for participation at the state and national levels. Coaches from the Palms Lacrosse Boys' Program will continue to play a vital role within the FLC Regional Teams, ensuring continuity and excellence in training and development.

Next Steps: Players are invited to explore the FLC Regional Travel Programs, including:

Coaches' placements within the FLC programs are being finalized, with many coaches gravitating towards Tarpons or Bayhawks teams. Mike Ryder, FLC representative, will communicate these details to ensure a smooth transition for players and families.

Existing Palms Lacrosse Boys' Program participants have the opportunity to participate in the final Small Group training on August 30th, marking the last training session under the "Palms Lacrosse" name.
